iPhone 5s Receives a Permanent Price Cut to Rs 24,999 in India

It is often said, that the best time to buy an iPhone is when at least two more generations of the same have been released. The reason for the same is that, while the newer models are always launched at fairly epic prices, the previous generations of the devices get a solid price cut as Apple needs to get rid of the unsold inventory. We saw it with the iPhone 4/ iPhone 4s in the past and the story is kind of repeating with the iPhone 5s.

When the iPhone 6s was announced, a little over three months ago, as much as the interest was around how much will the iPhone 6s cost, the talk of the town was how much would the older iPhones drop by. This did not happen by a large margin, simply because the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus did not start at the same price point as the previous year’s flagships, but a good Rs 9,000 over them. However, thanks to the need to clear out the older stocks and to provide an inexpensive gateway into the glorious world of Apple, they have permanently reduced the prices of iPhone 5s in India to Rs 24,999.
While this is a drop in the MRP of the phone, the price on E-Com stores has already plummeted to as much as Rs 21,500, making the iPhone 5s a great choice for those whoa re looking for a mid range budget phone. Add to the fact that it comes with Touch ID, a display that is perhaps the most comfortable still for single handed usage and the latest iOS 9 out of the box, the iPhone 5s at around the Rs 20,000 mark is a terrific buy.
